CQC report into maternity services at Basildon Hospital
The Care Quality Commission has today published its report into maternity services at Basildon Hospital.
We are disappointed that it has been given an inadequate rating. This is not good enough, and we would like to reassure families that we are absolutely committed to improving the quality of maternity care so that they can be confident that we provide a safe service and the best possible birth experience.
We have a robust improvement plan in place and have already implemented a raft of changes.
These include introducing additional consultant cover, leadership development, more support for staff, and working with women who use the service so we can be sure we are making the improvements they would want to see.
We are working tirelessly, as a team, to provide families with the first class maternity care they should expect.
