A festive treat of 270 Christmas hampers filled with goodies, are being delivered to hospital staff working on Christmas Day, in recognition of their dedication.
The yearly hampers are made possible through funding from Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity.
They are being delivered to wards and units across Southend, Basildon and Broomfield hospitals, as well as their satellite sites.
The thoughtfully created hampers include a range of goodies such as mince pies, chocolates, biscuits, and other festive treats to brighten the days for hardworking healthcare teams.
Each hamper is designed to bring a bit of Christmas spirit to staff who are delivering vital care to patients during the holiday season.
Matthew Hopkins, Chief Executive of the Trust, expressed his gratitude to the staff for their unwavering commitment.
He said: “We know working on Christmas Day can be challenging, especially when staff are away from their families. These hampers are a small token of our appreciation for their incredible hard work and dedication. We hope they bring some festive cheer and remind our teams how valued they are.”
They highlight the Trust’s commitment to supporting its staff, acknowledging the sacrifices they make to ensure patients receive high-quality care, even on the most special days of the year.
Lucy Thomas-Clayton, Director of Charities and Voluntary Services at the Trust, said: “We are delighted to support this gesture and help bring some Christmas joy to our amazing hospital staff. Their efforts make a real difference every single day, and this is just one way we can show our thanks.”
