Charity shops transformed with festive window murals
Three local charity shops are spreading Christmas cheer, thanks to the stunning hand-painted window murals created by a member of staff.
Paris-Blue Pritchard, from Hadleigh, has been a supervisor with Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity and Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation shops for almost a year.
She has transformed the charity shopfronts in Hadleigh, Westcliff and Leigh into three incredible festive works of art.
Each mural, elegantly created in gold and white, displays a different Christmas scene based on the theme of ‘the joy of giving’, designed to capture the magic of Christmas. This will draw attention to the importance of charity in all its forms within the community.
Paris-Blue said: "It’s lovely creating these unique works of art, but painting these murals isn’t just about decorating the shops. It’s about creating an inviting space for everyone and giving them an opportunity to consider helping others, just as our supporters already do by volunteering, donating to or buying from our shops.”
Ashley Davis, Charity Shops Coordinator at Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity, said: “These beautiful artworks by Paris-Blue are already bringing smiles to all who see them. We hope we can welcome many more supporters to visit our shops and perhaps try regifting or shopping sustainably with us this Christmas.”
The Hadleigh and Westcliff shops are both part of Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation, with the Leigh shop, part of Mid and South Essex Hospital’s Charity. Proceeds from all three shops are helping raise money for the Spotlight Radiotherapy Appeal.
The appeal, which will help improve the delivery of radiotherapy treatment for cancer patients across Essex, has so far raised over £540,000.
