Zero tolerance to abuse

We have a zero tolerance policy for verbal or physical abuse towards our colleagues.

Please treat our staff with the same respect you would expect to receive.

Visiting information

To protect our patients, we may restrict access to visiting times in some of our wards and departments. These changes will be listed below.

To view our standard ward information such as location, specialty, telephone number, visiting times and accessibility information, visit Our ward information page.

Visiting restrictions currently in place

Paediatric emergency departments (ED)

Our paediatric EDs are very busy at the moment so we are asking that only one parent or guardian stays with their child during their time in the department.

At Broomfield Hospital only one visitor at a time is permitted to visit patients in our ED and Acute Medical Unit (AMU) except for patients receiving end of life care.

Infection prevention guidance for visitors

To protect our patients, please do not visit our wards if you have cold or flu-like symptoms, or have had diarrhoea and/or vomiting in the last 48 hours.

We're seeing a high number of patients with Norovirus and/or Influenza (flu). To help us reduce and control the risk of infection please:
  • avoid visiting our hospitals unless absolutely necessary.
  • do not visit if you are unwell, including with cold- or flu-like symptoms or if you have had diarrhoea and/or vomiting in the last two days.
  • do not bring food you have prepared at home.
  • do not bring young children into ward areas.
