Discover how healthcare services will improve with transformation of The Place
Following the Government’s announcement of funding for a Community Diagnostic Centre in Pitsea, engagement events have been organised at The Place, to help the public find out more about the proposed Community Diagnostic Centre plans.
There’ll also be more about possible transformation plans for the library and community spaces currently occupying The Place, with the activity centre service, community facilities and groups, and library all continuing to be provided in the new centre.
Residents will be able to drop-in to the events this September and October, organised by Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, to get information on the projects and speak to health and local authority staff about the services the centre will offer.
Qaiser Malik, Clinical Director and Consultant Radiologist at the Trust, said: “The centres are part of a national initiative to support faster diagnosis and access to tests and scans closer to home. The centre for Pitsea will offer healthcare services including, CT scans, MRI scans, and Endoscopy tests for the local community. We look forward to sharing our plans with residents.”
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is working together with Basildon Council, Essex County Council and the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (MSEICS) to lead the programme. The MSEICS has a broader estates programme focused on enhancing and expanding these facilities for the benefit of the community.
Residents are invited to hear more about the new space that will be available for these services at the following engagement events at The Foyer Meeting Room, The Place, Pitsea, 13 Northlands Pavement, Basildon SS13 3DU
