Fashion show fundraiser is catwalking tall after raising over £2,500 for cancer appeal
Ruth Morris, owner of Ruma Boutique in Leigh-on-Sea, delivered an afternoon of fashion show fun for over 90 people, all in the name of charity.
She was hosting a fashion show at The Genting Casino in Southend, to support Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation’s Spotlight Radiotherapy Appeal. Also attending the event was television presenter, Sarah Cawood.
Boosting the appeal by at least a further £2,500, from the fashion show and luxury raffle, means the £600,000 appeal’s target is a step closer to buying state-of-the-art radiotherapy equipment to improve the lives of oncology patients at Southend Hospital.
Emma Wynne-Morgan, Chairwoman of the foundation said: “On behalf of Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation, we thank Ruth for her support; the effort she has gone to in arranging such a fantastic event is appreciated by us all.
“This event has highlighted, once again that the support of our community will mean that positive change will be a reality for patients across mid and south Essex receiving radiotherapy treatment for years to come.”
It’s just one of many ways people are helping to raise money for the Spotlight Radiotherapy Appeal, with upcoming events including an afternoon tea at Porters, bike rides and balls. For more details please visit www.spotlightappeal.org
