Generous donation to help breast cancer unit

A loving husband has donated £10,000 to the Breast Cancer Unit at Southend Hospital, in gratitude for the outstanding care his wife received.

Benfleet resident Sultan Taylor’s wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023. Thanks to the incredible care at Southend and Broomfield hospitals, she is now on her way to full remission.

Grateful for the support his wife received, Sultan, Board Vice Chairman of Provide Community Interest Company, made a generous donation through his employer’s charitable giving program.

He said: “We cannot thank the staff at both hospitals enough for the care they provided to us. The treatment and compassion by all the staff during my wife’s chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery have been truly magnificent.

“I am particularly pleased and proud to represent Provide Community and make the donation to the breast cancer unit.”

The money will be used to buy new equipment that will help early diagnosis of breast cancer.

Clair Grayston, Senior Charity Manager at Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity said: “We are very thankful to Sultan. This incredible donation will make a real a difference to the lives of patients and their families needing treatment for breast cancer.”
