Lions Club care package for patients is roar-some

Lions Club Southend donation May 2021

The Lions Club of Southend-on-Sea are helping make a real difference by donating 50 care packages of toiletries for cancer patients at Southend Hospital.

The packages, for men and women, include deodorant, shower gel, shampoo, tissues and shower body puffs, and were organised and created by Southend Lions following kind donations from the local community.

Pam Roberts, Southend Lions Club president, dropped off the packages at Southend Hospital along with committee members Nigel Folkard and Shirley Bell.

Lisa Drake, Elizabeth Loury ward manager, said: “This is such a lovely donation and we really appreciate the effort that’s gone in to putting these care packages together. It’s really kind and thoughtful, especially as some patients don’t always have the toiletry items they need so it’s wonderful that this has been provided and we can distribute them.”
