NHS Big Tea to celebrate your tea-rrific local hospital
The local community is being urged to join the nation’s biggest tea party on Monday 5 July, the 73rd anniversary of the NHS, and help raise money for their local hospitals.
Following an incredibly challenging year for all, Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity is asking as many people as possible to get involved in the national outpouring of love and thanks for NHS staff and volunteers, by hosting or taking part in an NHS Big Tea at 3pm on Monday 5 July.
Your very own NHS tea party can be in person or virtual, with the community, friends, family or at work, and is an opportunity to raise a cuppa and funds for a hospital, ward or department of your choice across Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
As part of the celebrations, the charity is also encouraging local schools to take part in a dress up day by wearing Rainbows for Heroes on, or around, the same date.
Elise Fleetwood, fundraising manager for Mid and South Essex Charities, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity created by NHS Charities Together, which we are proud to be a part of. It is another chance for friends and families to show their love and appreciation - in person or virtually - for our incredible staff across all our hospitals, and thank them for everything they do.
“The money raised through taking part in the NHS Big Tea will help ensure that we can continue supporting our NHS staff, volunteers and patients; so you will be making a valuable contribution by having a brew and raising some money.”
If you fancy a cuppa, you can register for your NHS Big Tea fundraising pack by emailing MSECharity@southend.nhs.uk.
