Opportunity to hear from your hospital at Annual General Meeting

The public is being invited to find out about the work going on at their local hospitals and give their feedback by attending the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Marketplace at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

The AGM is taking place on Thursday 26 September at Broomfield Hospital’s Medical Academic Unit.

The meeting will see communities and staff updated on the latest activity and performance at the Trust’s sites including Basildon, Broomfield and Southend hospitals. There will be reflections on the highlights and challenges of the past year, a presentation of the Trust annual accounts, and sharing future plans.

Attendees, who must register their space in advance, will also hear from hospital staff who will present innovative projects; including medical research and new eye clinics.

Before the meeting, a Marketplace will be held in the concourse of the Medical Academic Unit, showcasing the cutting-edge developments in healthcare in mid and south Essex, including research, heart failure, burns, and the Trust’s charity schemes.

Nigel Beverley, Trust Chair, said: “All members of the public are welcome to attend the Marketplace. We will have information stands set up to inform people about what we’ve been doing in the last 12 months, as well as our plans for the future and other key areas of activity which are taking place across our hospitals.”

Matthew Hopkins, Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “We’re really pleased to invite you all to our AGM and Marketplace this September, as we showcase our plans to deliver high-quality patient care in the year ahead. It’s also a good opportunity for you to tell us what you think of the care we deliver and how we can further improve the patient, carer and visitor experience. We look forward to welcoming you and to receiving your feedback.”

The Marketplace will be running from 3.30pm–5.30pm, with the AGM taking place directly after, from 5.30pm–7pm. Car parking will be provided for all guests registered to attend and refreshments will be available.

Spaces for the AGM are limited and tickets can be registered for by visiting: https://www.mse.nhs.uk/annual-general-meeting
