Perfect presents for patients are just a wish list away
A new gifting scheme is hoping to deliver adult and elderly patients some joy this Christmas.
Many adult and elderly patients will be spending the festive season in hospital, but Mid & South Essex Hospitals Charity’s Christmas Wish List Appeal is giving supporters the chance to buy them thoughtful gifts.
A whole host of gift options on the charity’s Amazon wish lists have been carefully chosen by dedicated ward staff, matching the needs and preferences of the adult patients they care for, with something to suit every budget.
These will be delivered directly to Basildon, Broomfield and Southend hospitals and distributed to patients on the wards in time for Christmas Day.
Helen Cullen, Ward Manager for Stambridge Ward, an elderly care ward at Southend Hospital, said: “While children often receive an outpouring of kindness over Christmas, adult patients, including those in elderly care, can sometimes be overlooked.
“This gives chance to gift them a personal present, whether it’s a something to wear, a puzzle to pass the time, or toiletries to bring a touch of comfort. Each wish list item is selected to bring a little joy to someone’s hospital stay.”
