Reach new heights by abseiling and raising money for hospitals

Tackle the Tower abseilers from 2024

The 154ft tower block at Southend Hospital beckons once again for those fearless enough to ‘Tackle the Tower’ in the annual fundraising event.

Saturday 17 May is the date for adrenaline junkies or those looking for a unique way to give back and make a real difference for their local hospital wards and departments.

As well as rising to the challenge, everyone taking part will be raising funds for the ward or department that is closest to their hearts at Basildon, Broomfield or Southend Hospital.

Elise Fleetwood, Events & Corporate Relations Manager for Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity, said: “The money raised by the brilliant people taking part will make a world of difference. Every penny raised will help provide extra services and facilities for patients, families, and staff across the hospitals, which are part of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.”

No previous abseiling experience? No problem! The event is open to anyone over the age of 14, and full training will be given on the day. Registration is just £45, with a suggested minimum sponsorship of £100.
