Taking it in their stride - residents ready for charity hospital walk
The public is being urged to take a step forward to support their local hospital in the annual Walk for Wards on Sunday 22 September.
The fundraising extravaganza will see over 100 walkers begin at Pavilion Fish & Chips by Adventure Island in Southend, proceed towards Chalkwell and then circle back to finish at the starting point in support of Basildon, Broomfield and Southend Hospitals.
The family-friendly event will offer local residents the chance to take the 7km seafront stroll and support any Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust wards, hospital or the Spotlight Radiotherapy Appeal.
Kayleigh Donovan, Community Fundraising Manager for Mid and South Essex Hospitals Charity, said: “Walk for Wards is one of our most popular annual events and we welcome everyone for a morning of fun and fundraising for our hospitals.
“We cannot wait to see our community back out walking for what should be another great NHS charity event.”
Registration is free with a suggested sponsorship amount of £25 per person. For more information and to sign-up to Walk for Wards visit: www.msehospitalscharity.co.uk/event/walk-for-wards/
