Your chance to nominate hard-working hospital staff for awards

2024 Shine Awards winners

If you’ve received excellent care from a team or individual member of staff from your local hospital, then now you can help celebrate them making a difference to the lives of others by nominating them for an award.

NHS staff across mid and south Essex are set to be celebrated as nominations open for the fifth annual Shine Awards, recognising the extraordinary work of staff from across the Trust.

Staff from Basildon, Broomfield and Southend hospitals, and their satellite sites, can be shortlisted across nine categories for their continuing achievements for patients in the Trust’s staff awards celebration, known as the Shine Awards.

Nominations opened on Monday 27 January and close on Sunday 16 March. Patients, families, carers, and staff are encouraged to nominate individuals or teams who go above and beyond to improve care and make a real difference.

This year’s Shine Awards features nine categories, including Leadership (team or individual), Spotlight (team or individual); Partnership (team or individual); Patient Champion (team or individual); Making a Difference (team or individual); Rising Star (individual); Outstanding Achievement (individual) and Outstanding Achievement (team).

Matthew Hopkins, Chief Executive Officer at the Trust and Head Judge for the Shine Awards, said: “The Shine Awards are a fantastic way to recognise the incredible work of our staff, whether they’re delivering care on the front line or working tirelessly behind the scenes. These awards reflect the passion, commitment, and excellence that are at the heart of our organisation.

“I’ll be eagerly waiting to see this year’s nominations – they always remind us why we’re so proud to be part of this Trust.”
