Living well with and beyond cancer

Two women running on a path outside surrounded by trees.

Every year due to the advancement of cancer treatments and early diagnosis more and more people are living well after cancer treatment.  However, there is a significant proportion who will experience a wide range of distressing long-term problems. Sometimes these can occur many years later.

About the service

The living with and beyond cancer service is a nurse-led service.  We see patients who have finished adjuvant cancer treatment with us.

You need to have finished your treatment six months ago and have concerns or questions about your recovery or experiencing long term side effects.

Our aim is to improve your quality of life as well as minimising consequences of cancer treatment.

We do this by providing a nurse led telephone assessment that incorporates your physical, emotional, practical and financial wellbeing. Initially, we will send out some questionnaires for you to complete at home prior to your appointment.  After the assessment, we offer wellbeing advice and support as well as signpost or refer to other services.

How to get referred to this service

If you need support, your GP and cancer team can refer you or you can self-refer to the service by emailing Natasha.baldwin3@nhs.net or calling 0300 443 7181.
